Healthcare Debt Recovery

Our healthcare debt recovery team has more than 50 years experience in the healthcare industry. We are well versed in all facets of collecting in this complex market, including managed care reimbursement and Medicare and Medicaid compliance. With our partnership environment, clients set the tone for how their accounts are processed.

In addition, we understand the patient’s situation as healthcare reimbursement can be confusing. Our goal is to assist debtors to regain control of their finances so they can meet their financial obligation to our clients. Our work standards lead the industry and include dedicated work teams and daily classroom training for collectors.

NRS Specialized Healthcare Services

Extended Business Office
We offer several types of Early-Out receivables assistance programs, tailored to fit individual client needs. We can function as an extension of your business office. We have experience in self-pay, self-pay after insurance and problem insurance accounts.

Bad Debt Collection
We start working for you immediately on those accounts after your internal efforts have been exhausted. The first letter is sent within 24-hours followed by an intense calling campaign. We continue to contact the debtor until the debt is paid or arrangements made.

Hospital Lien Services
Motor Vehicle Accidents (MVA) and other Third Party Liability (TPL) situations require that hospitals file liens to protect their interest in any settlement. Our paralegal staff will prepare the necessary paperwork and file the liens in the appropriate jurisdiction. We then begin the follow-up process with the patient and their attorney to achieve a quick resolution.

Credit Bureau Reporting
We maintain reports and notify all three main credit bureaus of account activity, if you desire. Bad debt is listed under retail and prevents a debtor from receiving credit for major purchases until all medical bills are paid in full. We strictly adhere to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. We work collections daily as allowed under federal and state laws. NRS is licensed and bonded in all required states and all licensing is on file. We are regulated and subject to audits. We have strict controls to ensure security of payments, information and records. Client funds are kept in separate trust accounts, which are backed by bonds. We carry business and liability insurance. NRS is compliant in all respects under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
